Believers know that although we vote differently, our love of Jesus is over and above all. This Election Day, remember that all churches are made up of people who read their Bibles, love God, but come to different conclusions about how to vote. Our witness shines out into the world when we show that we also love each other. That our love of Jesus is greater than anything that would divide us, even politics. John Wesley said this on October 6, 1774… “I met those of our society who had votes in the ensuing election, and advised them.
1) To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy;
2) To speak no evil of the person they voted against;
3) To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those who voted on the other side.”
